Meet Karliin Brooks

About Karliin Brooks

Karliin is an experienced Geobiologist, a Holistic Health Practitioner, author and a Culinary Scientist. She graduated from NYU with degrees in Broadcast Journalism and Nutrition and received her culinary arts training at The Natural Gourmet Institute. She is a former model, has worked at ABC News as a freelance producer and owned a Movie Locations company for Hollywood productions looking to shoot in the Empire State. Karliin founded The Squeeze in 2013, launching the Country’s first cold pressed juice & raw foods truck, followed by 4 brick and mortar locations and is currently the owner of Vital Home Wellness. Karliin has studied EMF and environmental medicine at The Geovital Institute. She is the author of SqueezeLife has a holistic approach to discovering environmental issues causing physical and mental harm and suggesting solutions to combat them for a healthier life. Karliin lives in South Florida with a number of foster and rescued companion animals.

My Story

I am a type A personality, all the way. I ran the rat race for a long time. I started to hit roadblock after roadblock and found that I didn’t have the answers. My life was out of control.

I won the genetic lottery of bad genes. As a youngen, I suffered from inflammation, brain fog, fatigue, digestive problems, anxiety, depression, and other issues that were poorly understood in both conventional and alternative medicine.

I grew up in a moldy home. Diagnosed with Graves disease, osteoporosis, severe adrenal fatigue, leaky gut and amenorrhea left me feeling fatigued, depressed and desperate for help.

I worked out daily, had a “spiritual” practice, adhered to a grain-free, sugar free diet, juice cleansed regularly and so forth. And yet, something was radically amiss.

The toll all this took on me was intense. I knew I had to change everything. I left my career in production and my hubby and started to look for answers.

I soon had a mounting supply of supplements, nutrition protocols and consulted a myriad of health practitioners in a bid to find anything to help remedy my diagnoses and the unending brain fog. I had made an outright shift into a sympathetic nervous system, increasing the cascade of symptoms. There was a constant hidden struggle for me to get through the day. I was irritable and cranky and quick to anger. What I didn’t know then was that my fatigue, lack of focus, forgetfulness and moodiness were not my fault. The problem was that my brain was losing energy

What Changed

The things I learned along the way were nothing short of life changing. Relatively easy lifestyle changes that led to much higher physical energy and focus. The perpetual fatigue was replaced with sustained energy. I was more effective. I had willpower and gratitude and joy. I experienced these dramatic physical and emotional improvements by hacking my own biology and learning that doctors and endless supplements weren’t the answer to living a healthy life.

I learned to avoid junk light and non-native EMF.

I learned how to up-regulate my mitochondria, the powerhouses of the cell.

I discovered how to  improve the body’s detox systems and pick the right brain fuel.

I learned how to increase neurotransmitter production and build new neurons with light, air and cold.

I now know to sleep harder and exercise less and DIY my own supplements.

I am empowered!

My Life Now

When I am not chasing 3 dogs and 7 cats around, you can often find me sweating it out in my full spectrum sauna or on a hot yoga mat. Alternatively, I might be freezing doing cold thermogenesis in my backyard cold plunge. If I’m not engaged in extreme thermal activities you can find me cycling on my vintage schwinn or sprouting wheatgrass and adzuki beans in my kitchen. But one sure fire way to find me is at the crack of dawn on pier 52, sungazing with all extremities grounded. This morning routine is a deep commitment to my health from which I do not waiver because it has been my number one health driver.
